Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

  • 3 tablespoons (45g) melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the wet ingredients: milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. A few lumps are okay.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter.
  5. Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles appear, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
